Sharyn May
Sharyn has a passion for good food, great wine and sensational service. She is the principal of May Consulting and
has gained extensive knowledge of the food industry through a variety of roles over the past 24 years ranging from graphic
designer to business owner and chef to consultant. Sharyn’s energetic and focused approach to business coupled with
both her strategic and operational experience has made her a highly respected leader in her field.
In 1993 Sharyn established Bibra & May Food Service Solutions with Glenn von Bibra (dec.), which
now forms part of May Consulting. Bibra & May’s client portfolio is extensive and includes projects across diverse
sectors including commercial, cultural, tourism, clubs and education.
Born in
Melbourne Australia, Sharyn studied graphic design at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. She worked with advertising
agencies on a range of food and wine client portfolios. Sharyn moved directly into the hospitality industry through business
ownership operating a café in Greville Street, Prahran. Over the next seven years she honed her skills in the kitchen
and gained accreditation as a chef prior to establishing the consultancy Bibra & May Food Service Solutions. Sharyn has
been able to draw on her wide array of talents and experience in the hospitality industry to build this highly successful
consulting business. She has developed extensive knowledge across the hospitality industry crucial for the development of
successful and innovative project solutions from conceptualisation through launch and
operation.
